Cops, Kids & Domestic Violence: Protecting Our Future (2006)

Cops, Kids & Domestic Violence: Protecting Our Future is a CD-ROM-based training on the impact of domestic violence on children, developed for law enforcement. It is approximately 20 minutes long and includes a combination of video and audio clips.

The training is focused around a "typical" domestic violence (DV) scene to which law enforcement officers are called to respond. The DV video clip is used as a teaching example that is referenced throughout the training to illustrate key points. The training also uses children's drawings, voiceovers of children's thoughts and questions, and interviews with law enforcement officers to help make the product real and compelling for the audience. The goal of the product is to provide officers with concrete information about what they can do when responding to the scene of a domestic violence call.

The product includes PDFs containing core messages about DV for police officers, lists of resources, a pocket-size tip card, and other materials.
