NCTSN Core Data Set Reading List

The mission and vision of National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) is to increase access to and raise the standard of care for children who have experienced trauma. Data collection and evaluation have been integral to the NCTSN mission and vision since its inception. The NCTSN Core Data Set was the first systematic web-based data collection effort to capture important demographic, trauma exposure, client functioning, service utilization, and treatment information for youth and families affected by trauma. The NCTSN Core Data Set includes data collected from 2004 to 2010 on approximately 14,088 children from 56 NCTSN sites across the United States.

The following publications were developed (in part) with the assistance of grants from the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The views, policies, and opinions expressed therein are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the CMHS, SAMHSA, or the HHS. The authors of these publications acknowledge the sites within the NCTSN that have contributed data to the Core Data Set, as well as the children and families who have contributed to our growing understanding of child traumatic stress.
